PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector headlight for a railroad car capable of generating a satisfactory light as well in the remote range, the middle, and near ranges of the track ahead of the car. SOLUTION: A sub-reflector 20 to reflect the light from an electric discharging light emission part 12a to the front down-facing at the specified angle is installed in that space between the part 12a and a reflector 14 which is situated above the optical axis Ax of a lighting fixture. Thereby the radiated light from the lighting fixture 10 is formed of a bundle of beams B (bundle of radiated beams consisting of a reflected light from the reflection surface 14a of the reflector 14) approx. parallel with the optical axis Ax of the lighting fixture and a light flux B1 (flux of projecting beams consisting of a reflected light from the reflection surface 20a of the sub-reflector 20) facing down with respect to the first named light flux B, and a sufficient radiation is made as well for the remote range, the middle, and near ranges of the track ahead of the car. The inner peripheral source 16a of a holder 16 is subjected to a reflection processing, and the near range of the track ahead of the car is irradiated with a bundle of beams B2 down facing more than the bundle of beams B1. |
