PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize visual recognizability of a high visual effect by displaying an image like a face photograph as a recognition means for the other party at the time of call arrival from the other party of speech at telephone equipment provided with a telephone book function. SOLUTION: A control means 102 extracts discrimination data like a telephone number indicating the other party at speech incoming to the telephone equipment of a user via a communication means. Extracted discrimination data are compared with telephone numbers stored in a storage means 104 and if registered data coinciding with the discrimination data is found, the storage address of relevant image data is read out. Read control to this read storage address of the image data is performed to extract corresponding image data in a memory card 103. Extracted image data are transferred to and displayed on a display part 101.
