PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable communication terminal capable of displaying received character information on a few pages. SOLUTION: The character style of a message to be displayed on an LCD 22 is changed in response to the operation of a display mode switch key 28. Concretely, the character style of a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character is switched over between a full size and a half size. Further, when a mode (c) or a mode (d) is selected, the space between lines of the displayed message is contracted. Thus, it is possible to display a received message in the number of a few pages.
