PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device with which an image can be picked up on the condition that a rotation center for rotating an image pickup module for panning, tilting and the like is aligned with the position of the object-side nodal point of the optical system of the image pickup module. SOLUTION: This image pickup device is provided with a positional information producing part 14 producing information, related to the position of the object-side nodal point of an optical system 5, a turning part 40 for changing an image pickup direction by turning the optical system 5, a positional relation adjustment part 20 for adjusting relative positional relation between the position of the object-side nodal point of the optical system 5 and that of the rotation center, by the turning part 40 and a control part 14 for controlling the adjusting state of the adjustment part 20, based on the positional information obtained by the producing part 14.
