PURPOSE: To provide a scroll compressor capable of efficiently transmitting rotation of an offset side portion of a rotating scroll to a spiral side portion, as well as effectively applying back pressure to the spiral side portion. CONSTITUTION: This scroll compressor comprises a rotating scroll 9 in which a spiral projection 18 is provided on one face side of an end plate 17 and an engagement portion 22 to be engaged with an offset axis on the other face side of the end plate 17. In the rotating scroll 9, the spiral projection 18 forms a spiral compressor chamber together with a spiral projection of a fixed scroll. As the rotating scroll 9 rotates, working gas is compressed in the compressor chamber. This scroll compressor comprises a transmission means 40 (such as pins) and an elastic member 41. The end plate 17 of the rotating scroll 9 is divided into two portions along the axial direction; a spiral side portion 13a and an offset side portion 13b. The transmission means 40 transmits rotation of the offset side portion 13b to the spiral side portion 13a under the condition that relative movement of the spiral side portion 13a and offset side portion 13b in the axial direction is permitted. The elastic member 41 applies back pressure directing to the fixed scroll side to the spiral side portion 13a.
