Manufacture of decorative tile or mosaic piece comprises; adhering paper to decorative face of ceramic; applying first resin layer, to fill spaces between pierces; applying reinforcing fabric to roughened exposed surfaces of ceramic; covering with another layer of the same resin; holding assembly firm to allow hardening of the resin; and removing paper to expose decorative face of mosaic piece. An Independent claim is included for a decorative coating made as above.
