PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make recordable a mark with a desired size by adjusting the power level required for recording and/or the time required for recording and compensating record according to a detected tilt and/or focusing deviation. SOLUTION: Although compensation of the length of a mark is adjusted by a recording power and that of the width of the mark is adjusted by recording time, compensation is made especially by the end time of the first pulse of a recording pattern and/or the start time of a final pulse. Also, when a tilt is to be compensated only by the recording power, the compensation of the length of the mark is adjusted by the recording power, and the width of the mark may be adjusted by the recording power of a multi pulse between the first and final pulses. When the tilt is zero, a power required for recording being given to a laser diode and recording time are maintained as they are for recording, or the recording pulse with the power and/or recording time required for recording is applied to the laser diode for recording according to the detected tilt. |
