PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make easily determinable the concentration of nuclides by dissolving a solid macromolecular substance that is set in a gaseous phase or a liquid phase for a fixed time and absorbs a radioactive nuclide into a solvent and then measuring the concentration of radioactive nuclide from the radiation count value of dissolution liquid. SOLUTION: The radioactive nuclide absorber 1 made of an expanded polystyrene is formed into a columnar body, and is pressed into a measurement container 2 for exposing an entire surface in a liquid phase, and is supported and installed quietly. The radioactive nuclide absorber 1 sets the aperture of a columnar block 1' nearly equal to an aperture R2 of the measurement container 2, brings it into contact intimately in the aperture for gradually pushing in, and is dipped into a liquid scintillator 3 in the measurement container 2. As the columnar block 1' is pushed into the measurement container 2, the liquid scintillator 3 enters a through port 4 that is open on both the side surfaces of the axis center of the columnar block 1', and dissolves the radioactive nuclide absorber 1. The measurement container 2 where the cylindrical block 1' is dipped is closed by a lid, is left at least for 24 hours, and is subjected to the liquid scintillation detector, thus detecting the concentration of radon in water.
|
