PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for an adapter for recording and reproduction, to greatly increase the speed of data transfer with a host computer, and to easily and effectively use the semiconductor memory by constituting a recording and reproducing device for floppy disk and a connecting device for semiconductor memory in one unit. SOLUTION: A disk drive 1 has the recording and reproducing device 20 for floppy disk which is connected to the host computer through an interface connector 16 and at least one connecting device 17 which is mounted with a semiconductor memory 3 and transfers data between the mounted semiconductor memory 3 and host computer. Here, the recording and reproducing device 20 and connecting device 17 are unitized in one. Consequently, the semiconductor memory 3 can be recorded and reproduced by using a standing floppy disk drive that a personal computer has.
