PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct all defective portions to be corrected contained in a picture with accuracy. SOLUTION: In a picture processing method, defective portions of a picture to be processed are detected based on IR(infrared region) data after pictures recorded on a photographic film are read with respect to R, G, B, and IR (102) and the defective portions are automatically corrected (104). Then the pictures before and after correcting the defective portion are displayed (106 and 108) and an operator is asked to verify the defective portion to be verified by selectively and enlargedly displaying the defective portion to be verified (and to be corrected manually) (110-114). When manual correction is instructed, the operator is asked to set a correction parameter to the defective portion to be corrected manually and the defective portion is corrected in accordance with the set parameter and, after correction, the corrected picture is again displayed (122-132). |
