PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head for modulation of a magnetic field, a magneto-optical device, an optical pickup device and an optical disk device with which a magnetic field can be efficiently applied on the recording layer of an optical disk with low consumption of electric power and discontinuity in a magnetic field generating coil due to heat generation can be prevented. SOLUTION: The magnetic head for modulation of a magnetic field has a magnetic field generating coil 48 disposed almost parallel to the magneto- optical recording layer of a magneto-optical recording medium, a first magnetic core 47a formed on the opposite side of the magnetic field generating coil 48 to the magneto-optical recording medium, and a second magnetic core 47b formed in the magneto-optical recording medium side of the magnetic field generating coil 48. The magneto-optical device is produced by forming the aforementioned magnetic head for modulation of a magnetic field on the optical member. The optical pickup device and optical disk device are produced by using the magnetic head for modulation of a magnetic field or the magneto- optical device. |
