<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network printer device which can deal with plural power consumption modes. SOLUTION: This printer device is equipped with plural power consumption modes. Standby mode of power consumption rate 75% and energy saving mode of power consumption rate 50% are set between normal mode and power source interruption. This energy saving mode takes a longer time to recover than that of the standby mode. Then, this printer device has a means for mode transition control for these modes. When an operator inquires a host of the kind of power saving mode prepared by an external device through a network (S10 and S11), the printer device returns information of each mode to the inquiry (S12). Also, when there is a transition demand to each prepared mode (S16), control of the mode transition is performed in response to the demand (S17).</p> |
