PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate resistance unevenness of an electrifying member by constituting the electrifying member of an electrically conductive elastic layer based on synthetic rubber and containing a specific compound, and a resistance layer covering the surface of the electrically conductive elastic layer. SOLUTION: In the electrifying member having the electrically conductive elastic layer 1b and the resistance layer 1c covering the surface of the layer 1b on an electrically conductive support 1a, the layer 1b is composed of synthetic rubber and the compound shown by the formula. In the formula, R1 is a 2-20C divalent-tetravalent aliphatic group or residual group formed by removing all carboxyl groups from an aromatic carboxylic acid; R2 and R3 are each a 1-20C alkyl group independently or the like; X and Y are each a 2-4C alkylene group independently; (m) is an integer of 0-20; (n) is an integer of 1-20; R4 is a 4-22C alkyl group or the like; R5 is a 1-20C alkyl group or the like; (a) is an integer of 1-4; (b) is an integer of 0-3; (a+b) is equal to the number of the residual group of carboxylic acid shown in R1.
