The specification describes the use of linear or branched polyglycidyl ester resins obtained by reacting carboxyl functional polyester resins with an excessepihalohydrin, in the presence of a suitable base, and optionally a catalyst. The carboxyl functional polyester resins used above are depicted by formula (I) wherein R1 and R2 are a C1-C4 alkyl group or R1 and R2 together form the group -CH-(CH2)X-CH-, a cycloalkylgroup and W is greater than or equal to 1.
