PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up the retrieval in a tactile sensation information transmis sion apparatus which converts visual selection objects to tactile selection objects and transmits these objects to a tactile sensation receiver in an access to infor mation from visual sensation selection items. SOLUTION: The category information of the various selection items is extracted by a selection object parameter extraction section 72. The tactile sensation selection objects are classified by each category in accordance with the category information by a selection object category classification section 74. The tactile sensation exhibition parameters meeting the various virtual three-dimensional characteristics of the tactile selection objects having the virtual three-dimensional characteristics are set according to the various selection items by a tactile sensation exhibition parameter setting section 75. The different tactile sensation stimuli are mechanically outputted according to the set tactile sensation exhibition parameters by a tactile sensation exhibition drive section 79 and a tactile/inner force sensation exhibition device 80.
