PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten reheating time by performing heating utilizing performance of a heat exchanger to the utmost while preventing temperature of circulation supply hot water to a bath from becoming excessively high temperature upon reheating. SOLUTION: The present hot water heater reads temperature of bath supply hot water in a reheating circulation piping (step S11). It is judged that the read temperature is less than a value previously set (step S12). If it is less than the set value, then a proportional valve is fully opened (S13), and the amount of burning of a gas burner is made maximum for maximum heating. If it is higher than the set value, then the proportional valve is operated such that bath supply hot water detected by a reheating hot water supply thermistor is at the set value (S14).
