PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone system and a call termination report suppression method capable of flexible call termination report suppression corresponding to a call termination kind. SOLUTION: In the case that a call is terminated to this portable telephone system set to a night mode, whether or not a state is set to the night mode is discriminated (step 41), and when it is set to the night mode, a call termination method corresponding to the call termination kind set by a user beforehand and stored in a memory is obtained and reporting is performed (step 42). Thus, in the case that the user sets to report call termination only for a specified call termination kind at the time of the night mode, the call termination is reported even at the time of the night mode when the call of the specified call termination kind is terminated.
