PURPOSE: A high speed debugging method used in a prototyping device is provided to enable effectively a debugging on a designed built-in system so that it can enhance a checkup speed. CONSTITUTION: A high speed debugging method comprises a built-in system prototyping step, a various combination display step, a debugging instruction transmission step and a reverse transmission step. The built-in system prototyping step further includes the step of downloading each programming file to memories and programmable chips on a prototyping board via a communication connector by using downloading instructions in a personal computer. The various combination display step further includes the steps of displaying various combinations of hardware description language codes, hierarchical circuit structure types and signal lines, and simultaneously displaying combinations of binary program types, assembly program types and object program types. The debugging instruction transmission step further includes the steps of inputting read/write debugging instructions by a user's direct or script program and transmitting read/write debugging instruction sequence to the prototyping board via the communication connector. The reverse transmission step includes the step of converting the state data of the prototyping board with the state data transmitted from a personal computer in the case of a write debugging instruction sequence, and vice versa in the case of a read debugging instruction sequence.
