摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent regeneration-incomplete carriers from being mixed by agitating a fatigued carrier with a mixed solution of solvent A for dissolving a toner component and solvent B for separating the toner-dissolving solvent from the carrier and removing solvent A and then solvent B in this order. SOLUTION: The fatigued carrier is put into the mixture of toluene as solvent A and water (immiscible solvent) as solvent B in a mixing tank 1 for removing spent toner and agitated with a mechanical agitating means. After agitation, the mixture of the solvents and the carrier is transferred to a separation vessel 3 which is made vertically long to facilitate layer separation by means of the specific gravity difference of solvent A and solvent B through a transfer pipe 2 by a pump P1 and settled in the vessel 3. After settling, solvent A is discharged into an impurity removing means 12 by opening a stop valve 5 on a solvent discharging pipe 4. After the discharge, solvent B containing the treated carrier is discharged through a discharging passage 6 provided at the bottom of the vessel 3 by opening a stop valve V1 on the passage 6.</p>
