[Class 74 (ii)] A knitted fabric has warp threads 16, 17 running diagonally and in contrary directions throughout the fabric, each loop being formed from a single thread. The thread-guide rings 9, 10 are rotated continuously in opposite directions, and each ring has half as many apertures as there are needles. The bobbins 12, 13 for the threads 16, 17 are carried by concentric rings 5, 6, gearing with a pinion 11 so as to be rotated in opposite directions.</p> |
