PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimal image signal corresponding to the purpose of using such as watching on a television monitor or using with a personal computer(PC) by performing optimal image processing to a photographed image corresponding to the purpose of using a recording medium or image signal. SOLUTION: An image pickup device 100 respectively stores the respective image processing data of gamma processing, contour correcting processing and white balance processing respectively suitable for the television monitor and the display monitor of the PC in an image processing data table 107A for tape and an image processing data table 107B for memory respectively. Then, a magnetic tape recording device 105 or non-volatile memory recording device 106 is selected by a recording medium selector 109, the image data in the image processing data table 107A for tape or image processing data table 107B for memory corresponding to this selected recording device are selected and while using these selected image processing data, the image signal is processed by a signal processing circuit 104 and can be recorded in the selected magnetic tape recording device 105 or non-volatile memory recording device 106.
