PURPOSE: A device for preventing a thunder stroke in an emergency call system is provided to cut off a surge voltage caused by thunderstroke so that damage by thunderstroke can be minimized and normal communication can be enabled on a stormy day. CONSTITUTION: A surge protector(12) intercepts a surge voltage applied through telephone line paths(L1,L2). A call signal detector(15) detects a call signal applied through the surge protector(12). A call signal converter(16) converts the call signal of the call signal detector(15) to output the converted call signal. An inputting/outputting interface(24) connects the converted call signal with a terminal controller(22), or connects the converted call signal with a circuit when an emergency call is used from the terminal controller(22). A relay(14) is connected with the call signal detector(15) in parallel, and is switched by a control of the inputting/outputting interface(24) to connect telephone line paths(L1,L2).
