PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for turning on back light of the same are provided to remove a noise due to a ripple phenomenon on a screen by preparing a first and a second back light whose oscillation wave phase are inverse mutually. CONSTITUTION: A first back light consists of a plurality of lamp(5,6,9,10), has a same period, and oscillates in synchronization. A second back light consists of a plurality of lamp(7,8,11,12), has a phase inverse to that of the first back light, and oscillates in synchronization. The lamp number of the first back light is equal to the lamp number of the second back light ,and the lamps of the first and the second back light are arranged by two alternately.
