The system includes at least two rudder propellers (10) driven by synchronous machines excited by permanent magnets. The stator winding of the synchronous machine comprises three bundles for a three-phase alternating current, connected via a power transfer device (14) to a power converter in the ship. The power converter is connected to the ship's power system via power conversion transformers. A control device made of standard modules is provided for each rudder propeller. The power converter may be a line-commutated 12 pulse direct AC converter, connected via three 3-winding power converter transformers to the ship's power system. |
