The system has a host computer (6) contg. a test program, an integral system (5) with a first input/output port connected to the host computer's network card and with at least one other input/output port and test modules (4) connected to at least one of the other ports and to a corresp. port of the device under test (1). Test instructions are sent to the test modules via the integral system from the host computer when it is activated to perform the test procedure, causing the test modules to perform certain test elements for the appropriate input/output ports of the tested device and to send test results back to the host.
