Demodulator for time division multiplex communication system

The demodulator includes a switchable phase locked loop (2) for producing a tuning IF signal with a variable frequency for automatically tuning an FM demodulator (3). The switchable phase locked loop can be switched on during a non-active reception time slot to tune the FM demodulator, and switched off during an active reception time slot to demodulate the transmitted FM reception signal via the FM demodulator. The phase locked loop can be switched on and off by a control circuit (20).
