The device has a plate-like base part (1) with recess (2) containing a rotary mounted disc (3) which has on its side facing the plate a grinding or polishing surface. The base plate also has a groove (5) for a wiper blade (6) which on its side facing away from the disc extends over the entire plate until engaging in the recess and running eccentric with the axis of rotation (4) of the disc. The device can have two grooves of different width. All parts are protected against corrosion. The grinding or polishing surface is coated with diamond dust.
