<p>Novel polypeptides formed from amino acid sequences corresponding to exposed domains on the surface of FimA, a protein making up a portion of type 1 pili of bacteria, such as E. coli, are disclosed. Also disclosed are compositions containing these novel polypeptides for use as vaccines and for generating specific antibodies for use in treatment and/or prevention of diseases, such as urinary tract infections, caused by bacteria of the family enterobacteriaceae.</p> |
