Fragmenting a cluster, comprising forming at least one cluster which contains a carrier substance, and breaking down the cluster into cluster fragments, is new. Before fragmentation, the cluster is charged with at least one reagent partner which, after fragmentation, is at least a part of the cluster fragment. An Independent claim is included for a cluster fragmentation system with a unit to form clusters and a unit to break the clusters down into fragments. The cluster fragments are measured and/or manipulated.
