The invention concerns a method for filling a pressurised container with a gas fuel coming from a high pressure tank, said fuel coming from a high pressure tank being expanded in the pressurised container, until a maximum filling pressure is reached in said pressurised container. The invention is characterised in that the maximum filling of the high pressure tank is selected between 40 and 60 % above the maximum filling pressure of the pressurised container.
