BINDER COMPOSITION FOR LITHIUM ION SECONDARY BATTERY ELECTRODES AND USE THEREOF

A binder composition prepared by dispersing a polymer comprising structural units of general formula (1) in a liquid medium, [wherein R<1> is hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, or halogeno; R<2> is hydrogen, C1-C20 alkyl, or C6-C30 aryl; R<3> and R<4> are each hydrogen or methyl (with the proviso that not both R<3> and R<4> are methyl); and n is an integer of 1 to 50]. Lithium secondary batteries provided with electrodes made by using this binder composition are excellent in charge-and-discharge characteristics.
