An ElectroMagnetic Field (EMF) device that attaches to a camera shutter button is described. The EMF device can be attached to the shutter button using threads, adhesives, and the like. When pressed, the EMF device emits an electromagnetic signal that is received by an electromagnetic sensor on an E-film cartridge. The E-film cartridge is configured to begin an image capture process in response to a suitable elect electromagnetic signal. In one embodiment, the EMF device includes a pressure-sensitive piezoelectric circuit that emits a short pulse of electromagnetic radiation when stressed. In one embodiment, the EMF device emits an electromagnetic signal to begin the image taking process before the EMF device has been pressed with sufficient force to cause the camera shutter to open.
