A blank (4) is placed in a two-part mold (1), the mold is closed and the part is formed by application of pressure. The volume of the blank is smaller than the volume of the mold interior. A recess is pressed into opposite sides of the formed part by a die (9) before the mold is opened after pressing. The pressure for this process is limited to a set size. The part is a roller body for a roller bearing. The die is operated by the drive (6) for movement of the mold parts, or by a second drive (10).
