<p>The present invention broadly relates to the field of protein modification and, more specifically, the attachment of low molecular weight, derivatized hyaluronic acid polymer to proteins including leptin and analogs thereof (the term 'protein' as used herein is synonymous with 'polypeptide' or 'peptide' unless otherwise indicated). The hyaluronic acid-protein conjugates of the present invention exhibit longer sustained blood levels than formulations containing protein alone, thus providing an important advantage in the therapeutic setting.</p> |
