The flow of cooling fluid through a core tie hole (142) formed between a pair of internal cooling passageways (124,132) of an airfoil component (110) is reduced by providing a restriction that meters coolant flow through the inlet passage (150) of one of the passageways (132) so that the pressures in the two passageways (124,132) are equalized, thereby minimizing the flow of cooling fluid through the hole (142).
