PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling planting apparatus for a rice transplanter, capable of dividing a seedling placement stand at rational positions and reducing the dimension of the seedling placement stand in the width direction by an easy operation. SOLUTION: An arm 65 to be operated for transmitting power to a longitudinal transportation mechanism G is deviated from the central position of a seedling planting apparatus A and installed. A double row separable seedling placing stand 22S whose power is cut off by a longitudinal transportation clutch 22S is made separable from a main seedling placement stand 22M at a side opposite to a side at which the arm 65 to be operated is formed. The separable seedling placement stand 22S can be supported in a superposed state on the position of a housing part at the seedling placement face side of the main seedling placement stand 22M.
