PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser ablation recording material showing high Dmax in an ultraviolet region useful for plate making and low Dmin in a laser irradiated part and having a color tone approximate to one of a silver film. SOLUTION: This recording material has at least one image forming layer and a protective layer sequentially on a substrate and it contains inorganic particulates as an image forming substance in the image forming layer and contains blue absorbing dyestuff and/or ultraviolet absorbing dyestuff in a quantity enough to make the average optical density in a wavelength region of 350-450 nm be 2.5-5.0 in the image forming layer and/or the protective layer. The optical density of the inorganic particulates in the above wavelength region is 1.0-3.0. |
