<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional float glass production process which enables sufficient exhibition of functions of functional float glass and which prevents wide variation in durability performance of the functional float glass from being caused. SOLUTION: This production process involves selecting one float glass surface having a lower tin content and, only on the selected surface, forming a monomolecular film which contains siloxane bonds and has exposed CF3 or CH3 groups on its surface. Thus, by using the production process, the durability of the monomolecular film containing siloxane bonds can be improved as compared with the case using a similar but different production process that involves selecting one float glass surface having a higher tin content and forming a monomolecular film only on the selected surface, and also, wide variation in durability performance of the float glass can be prevented from being caused as compared with the case using another similar but different production process involving no such selection.</p> |
