PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder, an image reader and an image forming device excellent in reliability capable of easily knowing for the replacement timing of a friction separating member. SOLUTION: A rubber layer 22 is constituted by two layers of a lower layer 22a and a surface layer 22b having a mutually different quality, the surface layer 22b is set to a quality and thickness which can accomplish a roller function with no obstacle even without generating a friction sound until this layer is worn, the lower layer 22a is made of material easily generating a sound by friction like, for instance, NR(natural rubber), and when assumingμ1 for a coefficient of friction between the surface layer 22b and a separating pad not shown in the drawing andμ2 for a coefficient of friction between the lower layer 22a and the separating pad, a relationμ1<μ2 is satisfied.
