PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent and a washing method for a bath heater that has stabilized washing effect, by surely removing deposits as incrustation, scale or the like and rust occurring on the heater material, when the bath heater is washed. SOLUTION: This detergent for bath water heater contains ammonium condensed phosphate or ammonium phosphate, hydrogen peroxide and a nitrogen atom-containing 5-membered ring as an active ingredient. As the nitrogen- containing 5-membered compound, is preferably cited at least one of 1,2,4- triazoles or benzotriazole.
