PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and reliably removing residual fine particles of glass in a vessel used for producing an accumulated body of the fine particles of glass after production of the accumulated body. SOLUTION: The method for removing the residual fine particles of glass in the vessel 1 used for producing an accumulated body of the fine particles of glass is provided with burners 9, 13 and an exhaust pipe 17 and is further provided with a gas spray gun 6 for spraying a gas onto the inner face of the vessel 1, scattering the residual fine particles of glass in the vessel 1 and discharging them through the exhaust pipe 17 or by using a depressurizing and sucking unit.
