PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the generation of an abnormal sound with separating performance left as maintained. SOLUTION: A sheet supported to a sheet loading base is conveyed downstream by a preliminary conveying roller, separated sheet by sheet between a separating roller 106 and a brake member 116, and conveyed downstream. In the case of conveying this sheet separated, a vibration is generated by rubbing of the brake member 116 and the sheet and transmitted to a turnable hold member 107 holding the brake member 116, but grease is applied to an arm 107a which is a turn support part of the hold member 107, so as to damp the vibration, and the generation of an uncomfortable sound can be prevented.
