PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmissive decorative sheet excellent in light transmissivity and strength and having soft touch of Japanese paper, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A light transmissive decorative sheet 3 is formed by interposing a Japanese paper 2 between resin impregnated papers 1 having light perviousness and impregnated with a synthetic resin and molding all of the papers under heating and pressure, the Japanese paper is also impregnated with a synthetic resin. The content of ash in the paper of the resin impregnated paper is pref. 10 wt.% or less and the synthetic resin infiltrated in the resin impregnated paper pref. comprises a thermosetting resin. Japanese paper is pref. formed from bark, a petal, chips and/or colored fibers by a papermaking method.
