The method and device is for the exchange of data between an Internet user (8) and a mobile telephone installation (2). An SMS report (12) is used and addressed by means of a preamble (14) identifying the Internet user. The method involves application of a number specific to the Internet user to the SMS report. After detection of the specific number the report is routed to the Internet user. The method is preferably implemented in an SMS server (10) from an offerer of mobile telephone services (4), whereby the SMS report is routed to the Internet user via a server (6) connected with the Internet.
