PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of accurately boring an axial hole in an elongate elastic foam body by a simple device without compressing the elastic foam body. SOLUTION: An elastic foam body 3 is held by split mold retaining members 1, 2 having inner surface shape corresponding to the outer peripheral surface shape of the elastic foam body 3 and provided at the inner surfaces with holding means 5 for holding the outer peripheral surface immovably. In this state, a rotary cylindrical cutter axially penetrates the elastic foam body 3 from the end face to bore an axial hole 7.
