PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method for easily cutting thin cut material to thick cut material without noise. SOLUTION: A plurality of blade plates T1-Tn having cutting edges 1 at the lower ends, are fitted to a cutter holder 30 linearly reciprocated along a workpiece support face 1 of a support base 10, at spaces in the moving direction of the cutter holder 30. The depth of cut of a plurality of the blade plates T1-Tn is made gradually deeper toward the blade plate Tn on the succeeding side in the moving direction during the advance of the cutter holder 30, and cut material W placed on the workpiece support face 11 of the support base 10 is cut with a plurality of blade plates T1-Tn by the forward motion of the cutter holder 30.
