PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric washing machine with a wide clothes throw-in port. SOLUTION: This electric washing machine comprises a box 100 including a washing tub, a top cover 200 for covering the top of the box 100 with a clothes throw-in port 201 for throwing in clothes, and a lid 300 for covering the clothes throw-in port 201. A side-long control part arrangement surface 203 with an operation display part 208 is mounted in front of the clothes throw-in port 201, and the clothes throw-in port 201 has slopes sloping toward the washing tub in the front and along the edges on both sides of the clothes throw-in port 201. A recess 209, biting into a circular arc cut way the slope sloping toward the washing tub, is formed at the rear center of the control part arrangement surface 203 to be overlapped with the front of the slope.
