PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the extending/contracting elongated pipe for a vacuum cleaner capable of satisfactorily feeding power to the motor of a suction port body by preventing the defective continuity of a power-feeding rail provided at the elongated pipe. SOLUTION: A power-feeding rail 47 is provided on the outer peripheral surface of an outer pipe 40 consisting of a pipe main body 41 and a cover body 42 forming a sliding chamber 31 between with the outer peripheral wall surface of this pipe main body 41. A lead wire 54 (power feeding conductor) and a slide contact piece 56 connected to this wire 54 in slidable contact with the rail 47 are provided at the bridge body 53 of an inner pipe 50 consisting of a pipe main body 51 moving in the main body 41 in an axial direction and a bridge body 53. Then, power is fed to the motor of a floor brush (suction port body) via a connection piece 54a connected to the end part of the wire 54 to avoid the contact of the rail 47 with sucked air including dust to prevent defective continuity.
