PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of drive-controlling can electric blower without malfunction by recognizing the variation of a current value though variation is generated in the current value outputted by an operation means. SOLUTION: A hose, an extension tube and suction port body are properly connected to a vacuum cleaner main body, and a power source cord is connected to an outlet to supply a commercial AC power source E to the vacuum cleaner. The reading means of a first control part 46 of a control means 45 reads a current value from the resistance of a constant current setting means of a switching substrate 15 via the transmission line 3a of the hose. When the read current value is within a prescribed range, the discrimination means of the part 46 compares it with a previously set reference value to set a correcting value. A current value varied by the setting operation of the switch part of the substrate 15 is read and his current value is corrected by the correcting value. Corresponding to the operation of the switch part, a second control part 47 phase-controls a triac Tr in accordance with the operation of the switch part to control an electric blower 2 in a prescribed driving state without malfunction.
