PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strengthen the waterproof function, thermal insulating function, etc., of a roof material having unprecedented appearance, by forming a plurality of projections and depressions on a decorated surface, defining a space, and making larger the width of a sheet stuck to the rear surface than a working width of the roof material. SOLUTION: A metallic roof material B is shaped like a long board, and one lateral end thereof is bent toward the rear side of a decorated surface 4, into a U shape, to thereby form a male connection portion 9 including a step decorated surface 6 and an inserting edge 7. The decorated surface 4 has a projection 4a upward protruding therefrom, and a depression 4b formed therein. A sheet C functions as a waterproof material, a thermal insulating material, a sound absorbing material, a cushioning material, a fire-preventive material, a condensation-preventive material, etc., and a width w thereof is 50 to 250 mm longer than a working width W of the metallic roof material B. Further, the sheet C of a roof material A in an upper stage is always laid on the sheet C of the roof material A in a lower stage. Thus, by virtue of synergic effect between sound insulating effect of the metallic roof material B, sound absorbing effect of the sheet C, and a space, sound transmitted via air from the outside, such as noises of vehicles, and airplanes, is insulated, and solid body sound generated when rain, wind, or the like directly collides, is absorbed.
